Dr. Hoang Nguyen

Post-doctoral Researcher

Dr. Hoang Nguyen received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Da Nang University of Science and Technology, Viet Nam. He was awarded a prestigious Australia Awards Scholarship from the Australian Government to obtain a Master of Philosophy degree at the Curtin University of Technology, Australia. Afterward, he was awarded another scholarship from Australian Research Council linked with Ecotechnol Pty. Ltd., Perth, Australia to perform an industrial project of syngas production from methane reforming under microwave heating and microwave plasma for his Ph.D study. He worked as a postdoctoral research associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Curtin University of Technology from 2019 to 2020. His research interests include catalyst development, plasma-assisted chemical reactions, non-contact heating, and chemical reaction kinetic modeling. From 2010, he has been working as a Lecturer at the Department of Chemical Engineering, Da Nang University of Science and Technology, Viet Nam. He has 14 publications with 180 citations and 1 provisional patent. He has also secured several research grants worth $30k in total.

Kabran, Spencer

Junior, Chemical & Biological Engineering

Jeremiah Ort

B.S., Chemical Engineering

He is a Chemical Engineering junior from Carman, Manitoba, Canada. He is currently working on green synthesis of carbamates. More commonly referred to as Jay, his interests include hiking, swimming, running, piano, and guitar. Jay's degree is a bit different than a normal ChemE student, as his program focuses on environmental engineering and science.

Javishk Shah

PhD, Chemical Engineering

Javishk graduated the Summer 2019. His main research focus on the plasma catalytic synthesis of ammonia and the fundamental understanding of this reaction when using different materials as catalysts.

Sarah A. Gutierrez

B.S., Chemical Engineering

She is a junior-level Chemical Engineering major from Tulsa, OK. While pursuing her degree, she discovered an interest in plasma catalysis, which led to her current work on graphene synthesis. Other interests include polymer and material science. Sarah also minors in Sociology.
