Zeolite Synthesis

Zeolites are a class of materials with act as molecular sieves with innumerous applications. Traditionally, zeolites are synthesized with an aluminum source in to form aluminosilicates. We are exploring the effects on catalytic activity of these zeolites by changing the aluminum source with gallium source. Different methods are being employed to incorporate gallium in the structure. Majorly we focusing on hydrothermal synthesis, incipient impregnation and solid-state synthesis.

Small pore zeolites are also being studied to understand the effect of temperature and time on the their structure. The characterization of these zeolites is done in-house to study the effect of the ion  change on the overall structure, crystallinity and crystal size.
